My daughter picked it out and we're planning to give it to her for Christmas. It was a ton of fun taking her down the toy aile. This was totally her choosing so we're hoping she's still captivated in 2 months. The off key comment is right. We played chopsticks when we got home to try it out and it's true. It is disappointing for me, but I doubt she'll be tone deaf from it!

I bought this keyboard online at [...] through Amazon and paid $[...] plus about six dollars shipping and tax. The toy is highly interactive, well-built, and hours of fun. My 18-month-old especially likes the "meow" mode for the keyboard. (Other modes include organ, banjo, bells and of course piano). The sound quality is quite true to the instruments. There are also different rhythmn settings and -- very important -- a volume control. A surprising added value is the attached microphone that projects voice and also supposedly records 50-second bursts of sound (though I haven't yet figured out how to use that feature.) I highly, highly recommend this toy but not at $[...]+. Try Target through Amazon for a much better deal.

We rented this toy from BabyPlays, so (unlike another Amazon reviewer for this product) we could not alter it by snipping wires; we had to live with it as it was.

My daughter just turned 1. I wanted her to understand the concept of keys on a keyboard, and play with the keyboard part of the toy. Unfortunately, she found the purple button -- the one that plays a bunch of completely irritating songs -- and she got stuck in that groove, to the exclusion of the keyboard. The keyboard part never got played with. The songs are loud and catchy, so that's all I heard until I shipped the thing back.

The songs are loathsome, weird and unsettling -- all about "coon cats" and lost gerbils. They sound like they were sung by some poor back-water Appalachian child who was about to eat his pet cat. I mean NO offense, but hey -- they had the opportunity to 1) put on some really nice, pleasant songs and 2) put a "DISABLE" button on the songs (one that didn't involve snipping wires). Why???

Some of you may say, it's not designed for a 1 year old. That's fine. But it's a KEYBOARD. Why is it necessary to put a button on a keyboard that plays loud and insane songs? And it's a button you can't turn off! Some other person had to snip the wire to disable it, so clearly I'm not the only one with this issue.

In addition: the mic has really loud feedback. Also, you can't play chords on the keyboard; only one key at a time. Bring back my ancient Casio keyboard, the one I got in junior high school! It was very simple and inexpensive, but a million times nicer, and I'm digging it out of storage.

I bought this for my grandaughter, who just turned 2. She absolutely loves it. It is easy to use and very entertaining. Kids can play a variety of music and sounds.

This is great toy and my daughter just loves it, especially the kitty songs. It has a really nice selection of instruments, songs an rythms.

My only complaints are that in the very first day some of the paint has started to chip off around the buttons and while the keyboard is labeled with the note names (great for little ones to learn the notes) the song sheet included only has the lyrics to the songs, no notes! Fortunately all the tunes are very common so the sheet music can be found online, but really! How hard would it have been to just include the notes?
